Poison tree

the tree is made out of his hate the tree is watered when he feels so this shows that the tree is made out of his angry and hate. If he’s foe did not eat the apple he would not have died but his foe did not know that the apple was made out of poison But his foe ate the apple cause he though it would make the man angry but it did not it made the man happy cause his foe are the apple and died I was angry with my friend,my foe outstretched beneath the tree

  1. Albert,

I can see that you have responded to the verbal feedback I gave you on this, but I know that your work can be made clearer.

You have clearly understood some of the surface meanings of this poem – now try to explore the sustained metaphor. Why did the speaker water the tree with tears and fears instead of tap water? How might this affect the meanings of the rest of the poem? What might the tree represent or symbolise? Why?
